It's quite simple. You were handed this card because someone in Cool Strangers Club thought you were cool.
They wanted you to join this invite-only community of people who like to do fun stuff together. Registering gives us the opportunity to invite you to the curated experiences that we host all around Austin.
Some events are loud, some are chill, some are thoughtful, and some are active. But every event has a curated group of attendees and an activity designed specifically to bring you all together.
Membership is completely, absolutely, 100% FREE.
Cool Strangers Club is not a business and there is no revenue model at all. This is entirely run by volunteers who have “real” jobs and just think this is a fun thing to do.
That said, some events will have a cost associated with them. For example if we are going to a restaurant or seeing a show together, we will ask you to cover your own cost to attend. We will always be upfront about the costs before you agree to something.
It's important to note that you will never HAVE to spend any money at all to be a part of this community.
Step 1: Registration Once you have received an invitation, spend about 15 minutes registering for Cool Strangers Club using the link below. There are questions to get to know you and figure out which kinds of events you would be most interested in. Don't overthink it.
Step 2: Matching with an event Based on your responses to the registration form, we'll match you with an event that we think fits you! You'll enjoy a unique activity and meet a group of “Cool Strangers” curated specifically to spark interesting conversations and new friendships!
Step 3: Attend Matching with an event may take some time, but that's part of the excitement! Once matched, you'll receive an email with event details and bios of the other "Cool Strangers" invited. Simply RSVP and join the fun!
Step 4: Join the community! Attend more events! Host an event! Meet up with the people you meet outside of a scheduled gathering!
At the end of the day, Cool Strangers Club is all about building friendships. As you attend more and more events, you will become more integrated with this amazing community of people from all over the city.
This project was started by a friend group who grew up in Austin together. After graduating college, we just wanted to meet some new people but making friends with strangers is really hard. So now we host cool events to make that process easier.

Always show up with intention You will get out of these experiences what you put in. If you are not in a place to show up fully to an event, just wait until the next one.
Always look to include people The person you know the least, is the person you should go talk to next.
Don't be a dick You don't have to agree with everyone you meet here. But you are required to be nice to them.
Don't be creepy We have zero tolerance for making people uncomfortable.
